Daasebre Osei Bonsu III has officially mounted the Silver Stool of the Bretuo Dynasty as the new chief (Omanhene) of Asante Mampong Traditional Area.

The 51-year-old chief, known in private life as Leslie Nkansah Osei-Bonsu, a certified Scrum Master and Product and Service Group Manager at GAF AG in Germany, succeeds his uncle, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who ruled from 1996 to 2025.
He swore the oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with the Mponponsuo sword at the first Asanteman Council meeting of 2026 and assured to diligently serve the people of Mampong and Asanteman in truth and honesty.

The Ejurahene, Barima Osei Hwedie who is also the Adontenhene of Mampong, expressed grave appreciation to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for facilitating the smooth nomination, installation and enstoolment process of the new chief.
Among prominent personalities who witnessed the historic event were the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Hon. Eugene Boakye Antwi, former Member of Parliament for Subin and Royals of the Bretuo Royal families from Asante Akyim, Adansi Ayaase, Adansi Ahinsan and Kwahu.
Also gracing the occasion was the Omanhene of Kwahu, who attended his first Asanteman Council meeting.
